Prenatal Yoga Workshop

Prenatal Yoga Workshop

Erica Evans is a Certified Prenatal Yoga and Restorative Yoga Teacher. Join her for a prenatal series starting August 1st for 8 weeks (skipping August 29th).

Research suggests that prenatal yoga can:
• Improve sleep
• Reduce stress and anxiety
• Increase the strength, flexibility and endurance of muscles needed for childbirth
• Decrease lower back pain, nausea, carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms, headaches and shortness of breath

Prenatal yoga can also help you meet and bond with other pregnant women and prepare for the stress of being a new parent.
Each week we will focus on breathing, gentle stretching, asana or poses with modifications per trimester, finishing with a cool down and relaxation.

Each class is an hour long.

Yoga Through the Ages

Learn how to adapt your practise to your body’s needs as you age. A strong focus on hip mobility and increasing the strength and range of motion of specific joints to keep you feeling youthful well into old age. The workshop will consist of 2 – 2 hour sessions which will begin and end in discussion with a 1 hour practise in the middle. We will work together to correct various habits that contribute to poor posture, pain and restricted movement. This workshop will include take home material and lots of playful interaction! Participants are encouraged to enroll in both workshops to reap the most benefits, but if time does not allow please join us as you are able. It will be very beneficial to sign up with a close friend or partner.

Baby & Me Yoga

Baby & Me Yoga is a gentle yoga practice designed for you and your new baby. The class includes gentle flows and stretching, deep breathing, and moving with your baby! Postnatal yoga helps to rebuild core strength, tone back and pelvic muscles, and release tension in the shoulders, chest and hips. Baby & Me Yoga is a beautiful way to connect with your new baby and to meet other mom’s in the community (Dads and caregivers welcome too!).

Babies can get fussy during class — our classes are very casual and you can feel free to nurse and tend to your baby at any time!  Bring a blanket for your baby and wear comfortable clothes you can move in. No prior yoga experience necessary. If you have questions about when to start, do ask your midwife or doctor.
