Your feet support and balance your body weight, and any misalignments in your foot structure can have poor consequences for other joints. Custom orthotics align your foot and ankle to correct any imbalances or misalignments that may be causing foot, ankle, knee, hip or lower back pain while walking, standing or running. Orthotics treat and prevent abnormal motion or rolling of the foot. They can also help to relieve foot pain caused by plantar fasciitis, bursitis and arthritis.
What is an Orthotics Fitting Like?
One of our chiropractors, Dr. Aislinn or Dr. Pokoradi, will do a thorough examination, assessment and gait analysis to determine if orthotics would benefit you. You can ask any questions you need to.
If we determine that you’d benefit from orthotics, we’ll take a 3D foam impression of your feet that we send off to our orthotics distributor, who custom makes your orthotics!
Once your orthotics arrive, we have you meet with the chiropractor again for an orthotics dispensing appointment (no charge). They will help you place your orthotics and ensure you know how to use them correctly. It will take some time to break them in and for your body to get used to the new way it is moving.
