Manual Osteopathic Practitioner
Tia Makela, HBKin, M.OMSc
Prior to completing the Master in Practice Diploma of Osteopathic Manipulaive Sciences (M.OMSc) program at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy, a principles-based osteopathy school providing a 48-month comprehensive academic and clinical based education, Tia Makela graduated from Lakehead University with an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology (HBKin) degree.
As an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner and a proud member of the Ontario Osteopathic Association (OOA/OSTCAN), Tia strives to support her patients’ holistic wellness and quality of life through providing individualized, principles-based osteopathic treatment. This approach to care places emphasis on the inherent understanding that the body is not merely a collection of self-sufficient parts, but a dynamic unit of function with each structure (fascia, muscles, ligaments, bones, organs, nerves, arteries, veins, lymphatics, etc.) interacting and communicating with the next. By working with an understanding of why and how the structure and function relationships within the body are in place in addition to identifying when and where abnormal communication and restrictions within the body occur, osteopathic treatment seeks to address the root cause of dysfunction within the body and encourages the restoration of the body’s innate ability to self-heal and self-regulate. Through osteopathic treatment, Tia aims to ensure you and your body are feeling as optimistic and functional as possible.
Beyond her professional commitments, you can find Tia spending time with her family (partner, dog, and cat), adventuring out in nature, or teaching/taking a yoga class.

Reiki Therapist
Alana Lauritzen
Alana was introduced to Reiki and meditation at a young age, as her mother was helping others. As Alana grew, she was taught to tap into the Universal energy and how to share it with those in need and to help those that asked.
Working in the fitness and wellness industry for over 45 years, Alana has grown and learned and continues to seek out teachers. After many years of learning Alana became Reiki Master and has made it part of her Yin yoga and meditation class. Also being a certified yoga teacher, Alana finds peace in much of her work, loving the transference of thought as well as energy.
Along the way Alana found different ways to have her clients release pent up energies, through writing, singing dancing etc. And was informed this was Somatic Energy work or therapy. After research and taking the time to learn more, Alana has found the blending of both styles of energy work, work well for her own healing, for her style of healing and for helping her clients.
Alana’s desire is to share a sense of calm, peace, kindness and love… And for each client to know and feel the Universal Energy, relaxation and a sense of well being.
